Not sure what this Dundon guy is thinking, he pretty much alienated the rest of those 10 thousand people who show up to games, Ron Francis was respected and gave everything to the Hurricanes.

Also, the team he built IMO was playoff worthy....

They better hire Brind'Amour as coach or that attendance ship is a sinking.

Weird. I’m surprised they didn’t just let them go earlier.

Hmm let's see.... Director of Hockey Operations for 3 seasons, General Manager for 4.

Never made the playoffs.

Honestly he did a good job of building the team, and as nice as it would be to keep him, how many GM candidates want to sign on to a team where their predecessor is still hanging around and has input.

Meanwhile Joe Nieuwendyk never did jack poop by all accounts. He was never around but collected a paycheque.

2nd pick is the upcoming draft is also noteworthy. Looks like their eyeing the Russian winger. Is he the best forward available in draft ? If so they better grab him !!!

Become a well known hockey guy with a good reputation and have a buddy running a team hire you on as a "Special Advisor"

Man we can't get a single year where not one team is a tire fire? I honestly feel sorry for the Carolina fans right now. Quickly becoming a circus.

I contemplate just sending my resume and cover letter to Dundon and asking for the job since I'd be cheaper than anyone else and actually try.

It's hard to see exactly what the plan here is. Unless he's just gutting the front office and rebuilding it the way he wants to see it run.

Francis got jobbed. It's not easy building a budget team.

Did I read somewhere that the owner wants to be directly involved in the personnel decisions? Hands on owner? That won't work and It should be interesting to see who would take the GM job under those circumstances.

No, He said he DOESN'T want to be involved in personnel decisions.

Francis did a good job of rebuilding the depth, but he didn't take any gambles, and the only ones he DID make blew up in his face.

He could be a competent Melnyk.

Maybe. Pretty hard to say what he is, exactly, at this point.

I think they need the leadership of someone like Ryan O'Reilly. Why not trade your second pick to Buffalo for him. He will be an immediate help you guys.

There is no telling which direction the new owner is going. Hopefully he will get some people with vast NHL experience around him to help guide him and his actions/reactions. If not, the mystery will continue.

this will not end well for the Canes. I'm not sure if true or not but I've heard eight GM's have turned down the job or interviews based on the owner wanting to be in charge of everything #controlfreak
